Urinetown Comes to Your Town!

Hip, hilarious, wicked, satirical, scatological, delirious… Postmodern parody, political subversion, an anti-musical musical--all descriptions that have been applied to URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL.

Bruce Weber wrote this in his New York Times review of the Tony Award-winning Broadway production: “Not only does it poke fun at itself, but it also pokes fun at poking fun at itself.” He called it “serious foolishness” and responds to the question posed in the show: “What kind of musical is this?” Weber’s answer: “An original one.”

Now URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann comes to Humboldt State University for two weekends, October 25-27 and November 1-3 at 7:30 pm, with a Sunday matinee on October 28 at 2pm, all in the Van Duzer Theatre. It is a co-production of the Department of Theatre, Film and Dance and the Department of Music at HSU. For more information, photos and links, click on down the Internet to Urinetown HSU.
